FULL-TIME FIREFIGHTER

Step One: Candidates who qualify will be invited by the City of Hamilton to complete an online exam. The deadline to register for the online exam is 6PM EST on Friday, April 4, 2025. After registering for your exam, you will receive an email from donotreply@nationaltestingnetwork.com on April 7, 2025 to schedule your online exam. This will be sent to the email address used to register for the test. Please check your junk mail folder if you do not see it in your inbox. The $130 payment upon registration is NON-REFUNDABLE and the fee is the same if you are testing for the first time, re-testing, or transferring previous results. It is the responsibility of the candidate to prepare for the exam by following the instructions listed here. Candidates who have not followed instructions (i.e., not disabling all alerts, programs, and applications on the computer) and wish to re-test will be required to pay the testing fee again.

Step Two: If you are selected to move forward after the FireTEAM exam, you will be invited to attend Firefighter Services of Ontario to complete the following occupational assessments: Clinical, Candidate Physical Ability Test, Acrophobia, Tread Water and Aptitude. All fees associated with testing will be the responsibility of the candidate. Test dates will be scheduled in June 2025. All tests must be completed in one day. Candidates who successfully completed the core four tests in one day (Clinical, CPAT, Tread Water and Aptitude) on or after July 1, 2024, you would be required to complete:

• Clinical Assessment (if expired, valid for 6 months)

• Acrophobia (if expired, valid for 1 year)

Step Two: Book your appointment with Firefighter Services of Ontario. Deadline to book your appointment is 4:00PM EST on February 7, 2025. Book all tests in one day. You will receive a confirmation email with details of your appointment once your payment is processed. Testing must be completed by February 16, 2025. Appointments are first come, first serve. Step Three: Complete the Emotional Stability and Resiliency Assessment (ESR) by 4PM EST on Wednesday, February 12, 2025. After booking your appointment, you will receive further instructions in your confirmation email.

Step Four: Bring the documents listed on the application check list to your FSO appointment. The package will be collected upon successful completion of the required tests. Deadline to submit application packages is 11:59PM EST on February 16, 2025. Application packages are to be submitted in-person (on any of the test dates) or by mail.  Emailed application packages will not be accepted.
